We're actually still alive!

My computer-geek brother has recently informed me that I am a disgrace to the blogging community. I have brought shame on our family name, blah, blah, blah. I think there was actually a death threat in there somewhere. So, here I am attempting to repent of my neglectful blogging behavior.
In May of this year, while still living in Suncrest, our Gaven was baptised. Isn't he so cute! Grandmas and Grandpas Eckersells and Woodhouses came to enjoy this special time with us. Uncle Clair & Aunt Vicki, Aunt Paula and Aunt Shauna were also able to make it as well as our cousins, Justen and Brei, and many of Gaven's close friends. It was so wonderful to have them with us at this time. We know what a sacrifice it was for them to come all the way to Utah for Gaven. Thanks you!

In May we purchased a home in Highland, Utah. It's an older home and had been vacant for quite some time. Needless to say, it had a lot of work to be done. Above are some BEFORE and the only AFTER picture I have taken so far. My mom gave me some of my grandma's inheritence money just before we moved. So the beautiful curbing in our new yard is Grandma's gift to me. I also thought the house was incredibly boring, so I built shutters for the windows. It feels more like home now. You're all welcome to come visit anytime!

In September we celebrated Tyra's 15th birthday. For the "new" girl on the block I still can't figure out how she got over 30 girls to her party. Tyra loves her new school and her new friends. The party was a blast! Some boys that knew about the party came and ToiletPapered us. Terry of course did the only responsible thing to do. He piled all the girls in the Suburban along with my entire supply of toilet paper and dashed out to each of the boys' homes. The girls had a riot!

This year we carried on with Tyra's birthday tradition. For the last 3 years I have redone or added to her room. This year we put her legs back on her bed. In the last house we hung her bed from the ceiling. But since her bedroom is in the basement, hanging it wasn't an option. But I think the room still turned out nice. It was the first time I'd painted polka dots and I love them! I want another excuse to paint dots, but I haven't be able to find one.

October 6th was Sydnee's 4th birthday. She's getting so big!

Here's a sample of the fun furry friends we find in our garage!

Chelsea Eckersell, our neice and cousin, has started school in Salt Lake. Since her apartment hadn't opened up yet, we got to have her with us for two weeks. While she was here she gave Sydnee her first haircut. I hadn't had it cut before because I was afraid she'd think it looked like fun and I'd find her trying to do it herself!

A day at Gardner Village - Sydnee, Mom & Chelsea

Sydnee has spent the entire month dressing up in various Halloween costumes. She's so cute!!!

Carving Pumpkins!

Halloween Night

Our family recreation is dirt biking. This a day spent at Five Mile. It's also the day after Gaven broke his arm. He had to ride the 4-wheeler with me. He was not happy about it!
